One thing that is important to understand about marketing is that not all marketing is created equal. Some marketing is designed to take a person away from their intuition. It seeks to convince someone to purchase something that they previously had not desire to buy. It often seems that all marketing is this way, completely driven by money and lacking in spiritual value.
Spiritually oriented business owners are often frustrated by marketing and business consultants who advise that they follow those old pushy, hypey or overly niched approaches to marketing. But there is another kind of marketing, a new paradigm for marketing that is mindful of how it impacts people, one that comes from the heart and is designed to authentically inspire someone to interact with you.
After creating brands and designing websites for dozens of spiritually oriented business owners over the last 17 years, I have come to understand the unique needs of this audience, and why a whole new paradigm for marketing is required when attracting them. This new paradigm requires a deeper commitment to authenticity and a willingness to be vulnerable online.

The old paradigm for marketing insists that you have a target audience that is not related to you. They are simply those you will convince to buy from you. This approach to marketing does not feel the need to consider the Law of Attraction.
The Law of Attraction is simply, “Like Attracts Like,” which means that it is actually working against this powerful natural law to attempt to attract people who are so different from you. In order to leverage your marketing with attraction, take a deep look within and ask yourself, “What’s perfect for me?” And recognize that what is perfect for you is perfect for your perfect customers.

When you are attracting your tribe online, you have very few seconds in which to capture the attention of your audience. Therefore what you say must engage them quickly and deeply. Your specific audience is seeking an authentic connection with someone who can help them get over some hurdle along their Soul’s journey. They will recognize you as a fellow on the path only when you share that path.
Often we are told that something as deeply personal as your spiritual path should be kept to yourself and out of your business. However the opposite is true for spiritual business owners as they develop their authentic brand.

ESSENTIAL THREE: CREATE AN AESTHETIC THAT RESONATES WITH YOU
I remember when one of my business coaches said from the stage to someone in her audience, “I don’t give a rat’s ass whether or not you like your logo or website design, it’s whether your customer likes it that is important.” At that point I realized that even though she was studying the Law of Attraction at that time, she had not integrated it into her ideas about marketing. I did let her know that I felt the design must resonate with the owner or else the website will not succeed in attracting their tribe.
Whenever I work with a new branding and website design client, I have them set up a Pinterest board for their aesthetic and pin images that reflect their visual preferences as well as the symbology that represents their purpose and message. This is a powerful way to develop the basis for your visual language in a way that will attract your tribe.
